South River Middle School's Educator & Educational Specialist of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Lori Hoeni for being selected as South River Middle School's Teacher of the Year!

It is a true privilege to recognize Lori for the exceptional work she brings to her classroom each and every day. Her lessons are thoughtfully crafted, complete with engaging slides that frequently incorporate social-emotional learning activities. Whether it's a daily feelings chart, a meaningful question of the day, or a fun joke to start the morning, Lori creates a warm and welcoming environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued.  Beyond the classroom, Lori is a true team player. She previously served as the Middle School Student Council Advisor, where she coordinated and planned the 8th Grade Dinner Dance. She is currently the co-advisor for Future Business Leaders, and she actively participates in a variety of school and community fundraising events. As a dedicated member of the SRPS Climate and Culture Committee, Lori planned and implemented a “Mindful Moments” professional development workshop to support and promote SEL practices in the classroom. She also serves on the School Improvement Panel and volunteers her time with the SRMS Sunshine Club, helping to organize and plan staff events.

We are grateful for Lori’s dedication to our students, staff, and school community, and we are proud to honor her with this well-deserved recognition!
